Volunteers
Chelmsford City Swimming Club is run by a team of friendly and hardworking volunteers, who are invaluable in the running and operation of the club.
We are always looking for people to volunteer and support is given to anyone that is kind enough to step forward. No prior experience is necessary, just a willing enthusiasm and positive nature.
The Club will support you and assistance is available in training where required.
As a volunteer you will;
- Help to make a difference to your community and young people.
- Make lifelong friendships
- Gain a sense of achievement and fulfilment
- Have new experiences and learn new skills
“I want to get involved, but I can’t because I don’t know anything about swimming!”
You can volunteer regardless of how much you know about swimming – there are a number of activities and tasks that need your knowledge and skills.
“ I don’t have the time to commit to volunteering every week!”
Support is required in a variety of areas, with different levels of time commitment. Some activities do need a weekly commitment, others could be for a single event. We are grateful for all offers of help, no matter how little or how much time you can contribute.
“I don’t know anyone at the club!”
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, some of whom will become good friends.
“I don’t have any experience!”
Enthusiasm and a willingness to help and put something back into our club and community, for the benefit of others ,is the only experience required.
POOLSIDE CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR
Please wear a T-shirt style top and shorts or trousers (no jeans) plus clean, non-slip and non-marking footwear. Footwear that has been worn outdoors is not permitted on the pool deck.
Poolside volunteers should ideally wear a royal blue T-shirt style top to help identify them as Club personnel.
If you are a technical official then you are required to wear a white T Shirt style top and white or black trousers or long shorts but please check as Competitive swimming, Artistic Swimming and Water Polo disciplines have different requirements.
You can wear your own clothing whilst you are training to be a J1 or are a timekeeper but you are also welcome to purchase a branded Club Officials top. Tops can be purchased via Wyvern Swimwear website
Once you are a qualified official and have a licence from British Swimming, then please contact club kit who will arrange for a Club top to be given to you.
When ordering, we suggest that you select a size up as they are European sizes so can come up small.
If you have any queries or are unsure about sizing, everything including measurements is on the Wyverns website or please email clubkit@
